  1. Hi Diane,

Reading your essay on motherhood, broke my heart. I cried. I’ve had my share of dissapointment also. Its so hard when you do it alone and its unappreciated. Never give up, always try and be the mother you wanted to be. It sounds like you have done a damn fine job at raising a strong independent women, you should be so proud.

My daughter (almost 21) is in LA trying to.come home, broke up with her junke BF snd is weaning off opiates. Now she needs ne to pay once more for her mistakes. It breaks my heart .

I couldn’t find you on FB, I guess you needed the break. I hooe you are settling as well as you can back home with Bella.

    Xx

    1. Thank you for reading my essay. I’m sorry to hear about your daughter. Mothering is so difficult—you want to help them, but doing so is so fraught. You’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I have no words of advice, but empathise and wish you all the best. I hope she makes it back to Australia and uses the time to heal. Xx

  2. Hi Diane. I admire your courage and honesty. Thank you for sharing your story. It is a poignant reality of motherhood or parenting no matter how much love and time you devote to your child. It sucks (can’t think of a better word) but it makes you appreciate the simple joys that life brings. Celebrate those moments. I wish you well.

    1. Thank you, Jenny. I appreciate your kind words. If I had my time again, and knowing what I know now, I would make different choices. Wishing you all the best as well Xx
